Australian global freight picked up my skis and boots and wrapped them at my home in Brisbane, then shipped them to the Geneva airport for me to collect (straight after I collected the hire car) before driving to Chamonix and Cormeyeur. Exceptionally convenient, fantastic service and perfect timing - and very competitive price compared to taking with me as excess baggage. Bonus is I didn’t have to drag the bag through a bunch of airports and other sectors before Geneva.
